As the cost of baseball equipment rises and families face economic challenges, this initiative provides a way to help by recycling used gear so young baseball players can continue to grow both on and off the field.

How to Donate Your Baseball Gear:
It's simple! Just send an email to stepuptotheplate27@gmail.com with details of the items you'd like to donate—including the bat size, mitt size, cleats, helmet, or other baseball gear you are donating—and a brief description of the gear. Your contribution can make a big difference!

A Note from Shayne:
Hi, I’m Shayne Dalgleish, a sophomore at Iona Prep, and like many of you, baseball is more than just a sport to me—it’s a way of life. Since the age of five, I’ve been playing this incredible game. I pitch and play second base, along with any infield positions. I started Step Up to the Plate 27 because I understand how important it is to keep playing, even when life throws you a curveball.

As a proud Yankees fan, I want to make sure that every young baseball player, regardless of their financial situation, has the gear they need to keep the game going to pursue their dreams.
